Sizzling Summer

Updated: Jul 22

Welcome to My Blog!

Thank you for visiting! As the seasons change, so do the themes in my writing.

Here, you'll find a collection of my thoughts and insights, all with a seasonal twist inspired by the five elements & nature. Whether it's the vibrant growth of Wood in spring, the passionate warmth of Fire in summer, the nurturing stability of Earth in late summer, the clarity and precision of Metal in autumn, or the introspective calm of Water in winter, I hope you enjoy your stay and find inspiration in my posts.

Most of you receiving this blog will at some point, have received a treatment from me or attended one of my workshops (perhaps you’re here by mistake!).

I have been a therapist for over 25 years now—yikes! My passion lies in working with women, creating kind and loving spaces where they can lay it all down for a short while, be held, nourished, and come home to their bodies. I do this with the presence of touch, bodywork, and holistic facials.

My aim is to settle the nervous system and provide a much-needed opportunity for rest.

What to Expect

In this blog, I would love to share my seasonal musings, along with tips on how to create seasonal connections to nature through making available products. Additionally, I will offer seasonal massage tips for both the body and face to help keep us flowing and glowing. Creating connection with yourself, Nature and beginning a conversation with your body and face.

Join me on this journey, embracing the rhythms of nature and nurturing our beautiful selves along the way!

Summer is for the beautiful Rose.

I love roses! Above is a picture of the rose plant outside my kitchen window. It was a little supermarket pot rose that has grown into this wild beauty. It flowers for months, its beautiful pink flowers catching my eye as I pootle around the kitchen, nudging me to leave behind the dullness of domestic chores and get outside. I collect its beautiful flowers and make rose oil for my treatments, place it in bowls under my massaage tables face hole to gaze at its beauty.

So simple:

Grab two big handfuls of dried rose petals, and put them in an old clean jam jar.

Add a carrier oil; I normally use almond oil, but you can use any carrier oil that suits your skin type, Organic where possible.

Leave on a windowsill for 4-6 weeks, shaking when you remember.

Then sieve the roses out, and you are left with a beautiful rose-infused oil that can be used on the body or face. Or made in to a gorgeous face balm.

*Only use roses that you know are clean and not sprayed.

Roses are magic for nourishing the heart, both physically and emotionally, calming the soul and lifting mood.

In summertime, with energy fizzing, parties, holidays, late hot nights. sometimes we just need to take a pause. Breathe in the rose and chill. Book in with me to take that pause for you!

May your summer be filled with connection.

I wish you all a beautiful summer connecting with loved ones and sharing moments around a fire, chewing the fat and roasting marshmallows. Remember to lie on the grass, look at the clouds, and smell the roses; they will soon be gone. See you in autumn. x
